As you would expect it was exceptionally well run and full of excellent gymnasts, including 9 of our own. On the Saturday we had the junior girls, Laura (Novice 8 years), Jamie-Lea (Novice 10U) and Victoria (Level 4, 11U) followed on the Sunday by the senior girls, Becca and Kerry (both Level 4, 13U) and Alice, Jasmine, Paige and Rachel (all Level 4, senior). The Saturday was very tough, with our girls competiting against some of the North's and Scotland's top gymnasts who will be competiting for places in national squads, but they performed tremendously well and achieved very respectable scores. Jamie-Lea even won a bronze medal on the beam. On the Sunday the older girls again did the club proud with Becca (5th overall) and Kerry achieving very solid all round performances in their category then medals galore for the Senior team. The team itself won the gold medal, but pride of place went to Alice with the overall gold, closely followed by Rachel with the silver and Jasmine taking a superb 4th place ribbon. Can't remember all the medals they won on pieces alongside all that! Well done to every single one of our gymnasts for representing us so well again. You were all, as usual, a credit to yourselves and the club. There are a couple of photos in the gallery. |
